You can make a difference in the second half! You can’t do it by doing the same things the same way.

You can make a difference in the second half every year! You can do it by thinking differently and being different. For example:

Always link your ideas to action steps. Always put them in writing. Always include dates. Remember, the old Proverb that says - “Talk doesn’t cook rice.” Nothing gets done if you don’t do it.

You get what you expect. Change your expectations. Always expect to make your numbers. Always means always. Be optimistic about everything. Optimists make more money than pessimists. I kid you not!

Remove these “Gutless” words from your dictionary. Commodity - can’t - impossible - discount - ordinary.
The ultimate tool all salespeople rely on is words. If you don’t own a dictionary - you’d better get one immediately! A sales person without a dictionary is like a guitarist without a guitar.

Great salespeople have much in common with great works of art and the common bond is creativity. Some people think
they aren’t creative. That’s balderdash - it’s a great word - look up it’s definition if you’re not sure what
it means. If you have a mind you have the potential to be creative. If you have a body you have the potential for fitness.

There are however no shortcuts - both require continuous exercise.

>>> Unleash your imagination . . .

>>> Harness your intellectual inventiveness . . .

>>> Stimulate your thinking . . .

Each of us is born with unlimited potential.

Most of us go through life with permanent potential.

Ordinary people are capable of doing extraordinary things. It happens every day.

What It Takes . . .

Do you know what it takes?

There are six characteristics of very successful salespeople. If you possess these qualities you have what it takes to succeed in sales.

1. Successful salespeople are optimists.

2. Successful salespeople are goal oriented.

3. Successful salespeople are personally accountable for the results they achieve or don’t achieve.

4. Successful salespeople are passionate about their work, their products, and their customers.

5. Successful salespeople are always sharpening their selling skills - and they have the biggest Learning Libraries in their company.

6. Finally, successful salespeople never - never - never give up.

Do you have for what it takes?

How you measure up with these six characteristics will determine your ultimate success. Few salespeople have these qualities wired into their DNA. Having said this, very few salespeople achieve success without them. It’s up to you to acquire the knowledge and skills to get what it takes.

Are you doing what it takes?

Blending in versus standing out is an extremely important and conscious strategy in today’s highly competitive environment. Blending in is the virus and standing out is the antidote. From the customer’s perspective, when all competitors appear similar it puts extreme pressure on the pricing variable. Anybody can discount! It takes imagination, creativity, and the willingness to demonstrate to your customers how specifically you and your products add value to their current situation.

Sidebar - if you can’t quantify the value you’re adding, don’t expect your customers to be able to see it.

Do you know how to get what it takes?

If you don’t possess the skills to be number one in your company - what you doing about it? Is your Learning Library filled with books or are the shelves barren and collecting dust? There are many ways to acquire knowledge about the selling profession - including: books, CDs, TeleSeminar’s, Webinars, Boot Camps, and even e-Learning.

If you’re not doing what it takes - don’t be surprised with your results!

If, however, you do what it takes - you’ll truly be amazed with your results.

When you make every day a masterpiece - you’ll discover smooth sailing in the second half of every year!

How can the introduction of new products affect the way I network at meetings?

When I have a new product to launch, I make sure that I have a 20 to 30 second pitch ready for the next networking event I attend. I also make sure that I have a supply of product announcements offering a free sample. As I work through the crowd, I make sure that I am talking to a person that could use my product, by listening carefully to what they have to say, and if the product does not fit I go on to the next conversation.

The important thing to remember is that you should not force your product onto everyone you talk to. You have a job to listen intently to what they have to say and then make a judgment as to the fit of what you have to offer. Sales of new products are not made or broken through networking events, they are simply introduced so that the next time an event occurs and you have product to display, some attendees will be aware of your offering. The best thing is to make sure that you are excited about your product or service, you are an expert in the field, and that you are able to deliver what is promised. All three need to be present while attending an event and making the product introduction. If one item is missing, the product is not likely to be well accepted.

Sometimes a networking event will allow participants to have a display booth. In that case, you should make sure that you have a table or share one and offer tests or trial sizes with feedback forms. It is one thing to give out the product; it is another thing to get feedback on its application. Never give out anything without having a way to contact the potential product user.

One key factor to succeeding in business is having products that are in hot demand.

Your wholesale business needs to have the merchandise which resellers are being asked for by their customers.
Since your sales are driven by the success of your customers, who in turn need to sell the wholesale merchandise they buy from you, it would make sense for you to offer the hottest merchandise available on the market.

But how can you determine which wholesale merchandise is in the most demand?

One way to ascertain this is by polling your wholesale customers.

Ask them straight out what line of merchandise they need for their customers.

Since your customers are in business to make money, they will be glad to share this information with you.

They realize that as a wholesaler you are not going to compete with them on the retail level.

For this reason they will be secure in telling you the exact type of merchandise they need.
So next time you are trying to figure out what the hottest wholesale merchandise is, simply ask your customers.

Remember, the wholesale deals that your customers need, is the hot merchandise as far as you are concerned.

Because even if for example DVD players are a hot wholesale item, if your customers are looking for good wholesale deals on televisions, then as far as your business is concerned, the hot item is currently a television.

Keep this in mind while you develop your wholesale business and you will have a very good chance of always selling your wholesale inventory.

Too much stress? You need a simple stress meditation. Of course, learning to meditate might intimidate you, and it’s tough to find the time for daily meditation. A solution to both problems is a meditation you can learn right now, that will take a minute to do each day.

An Easy Stress Meditation

When you breath through your mouth, it expands your chest. Breath through your nose and you’ll notice how your abdomen extends. Nose-breathing causes the diaphram to pull air to the bottom of your lungs. This delivers a good dose of oxygen into your bloodstream and brain, and it also tends to relax you. Breathing through your nose is healthier, and it’s the basis of this one-minute meditation.

Here’s how you do it. Close your eyes, sigh, and let the tension go out of your muscles. It may help to tense up your muscles first, then release that tension. Then let go of your thoughts, as much as possible, and take four or five slow, deep breaths through your nose, paying attention to your breathing.

Can Meditation Be This Easy?

The short answer is yes. No, you’re not likely to get you into a deep meditative state with this simple stess meditation. However, you will get benefits, including a clearer mind and a reduction in stress.

It helps to develop a “trigger” for your meditation. For example, do your four breaths when you get into the car, or right after lunch each day. These triggers are places or times that remind you, so your meditation becomes a habit.

You can say this isn’t “real” meditation, but there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the relaxation you’ll get from this technique. If you want, you can always pursue deeper meditation later. Meanwhile, remember that not everything has to be difficult to be of value. Why not try this easy one-minute stress meditation?

For those of you who don’t know the definition: Link Exchanges are 2 links back and forth between 2 individual companies that have linked to each other. What is the purpose? To build “link popularity” within Search Engines!

What is the purpose?
To build “link popularity” within Search Engines!

How Does That Work?
Well when someone types in your business within search engines, you will get 2 types of results.

1) Your optimized site & related topics listed by you into the search engines.
2) All the links back to you from other sites listed within the search engines.

Number 2 is the important one for this subject: If your site is NOT “optimized” for great search results, a popular link could do just the same.

“Optimized” - Look for articles on “Optimizing your site for search engines”

Martin, PLEASE TELL ME MORE!!!

Well, let’s say that 80% of your visitors come from search engines. And let’s say that the search engine just all of a sudden deleted you out of the engine! You will still get people coming to your site and searching your site with great link popularity. All the links back to you will STILL be listed in the search engines!

Many professionals believe that you should only link to companies that have related discussions or information as your own! Me, always being the impartial one, I still try promoting link exchanges from all walks of life! You never know who will see your link and where!

It’s not only good for search engines! Huh?

That’s right, many link exchanges come from privately owned businesses, probably like yours. With this into account, once a visitor is satisfied with browsing the site, they may look for other resources! If you have links to your site all over the net, there’s more of a chance some people will see it and visit your site!

Please Note: When giving other companies your description of your link (Company Title) please make sure to be specific on your sites information!

Here’s an example of our text link:

Title: Affordable Web Design & Web Site Marketing Tips

Description:
Smartads is here to help you expose your business to the world. SEO Services & Affordable Web Site Design for your online promoting needs. Web Site Marketing Articles to help you get more traffic to your site.

That’s it!

Here are a couple of companies that promote link
exchanges between all kinds of other companies:

- http://www.reciprocallink.com/
- http://www.plainlinks.com/

These are just some examples.
They are not listed here as the best there is, just some of the many companies out there!

If your searching for companies to exchange links with, here’s a couple of things to look for!

1. Look for buttons or links that say this:

- Links
- Link To Us
- Reciprocal Links
- Link Exchange
- Directory (add your site and link back)
- Resources

2. When looking through other link programs, make sure they say something like this: “Link to us and well link to you” Many sites often only have “Help us promote our site, link to us!” and they don’t even link to you!

Not to say this is a bad thing, but if I’m going to link to you, the least you can do is link to me!

I hope this article has opened your mind about Link Exchanges!

Now you can check rates of interest quickly on the internet and visit if there are possible traps you should be aware of. Lots of of the moneylenders wil show you a rate that looks comely but feels poorly or so after some time. That’s the reason why now you need to inquire and discover if you can have a bank loan at a fine percent rate of interest.

Check out to see if the merchant bank who is willing to give you a loan is serious. You should be bright today to investigate if you have a nice offer or if you don’t with the bank that offers you a credit loan. It makes no difference if you live in Hartford Connecticut or in Malden Massachusetts a solid online analysis will salve you often a lot of pain. 8.5 percent interest rate may seem so just but will it stay perpetual after you’re going to repay your money loan. A moneylender in Grand Rapids Minnesota or so may have a total different actual loan rate for a 12500 dollar loan then a merchant bank in Los Angeles California and that makes a big clear difference in your yearly pay backs.

If you ask any student if they are literate, they will likely say “Of course!” Certainly, most people think of literacy as the merely the simple skill of being able to read and write. But if you ask a student if they are media literate, you might get a puzzled look. Unfortunately, if a person is not media literate, their literacy is not complete. But what precisely is media literacy? And how does media literacy “complete” a student’s overall literacy?

According to Wikipedia, media literacy is process of analyzing, evaluating, and creating messages through the various mediums of media, such as radio, television, the Internet, and newspapers. Media literacy classes teach students how to critically analyze media messages to detect any forms of censorship, bias, propaganda, and misleading or outright false information. Students also learn how information is processed and packaged. For example, media literacy courses could include lessons on how a television studio puts together a news program, or how a newspaper reporter gathers reliable sources of information.

Given the veritable tidal wave of information that we absorb on a daily basis, media literacy is now more important than ever. Without media literacy, a student could fall prey to deceptive ad campaigns, misleading political messages, or wild Internet rumors. But if students learn how information is produced and distributed, they can be much more savvy consumers of information.

Many progressive schools are now incorporating media literacy studies to help students face the information challenges of the 21st century. At the Ross School in New York, media studies are an important part of the curriculum. Students have access to the latest video production and editing equipment. Ross School students also enjoy courses in photography, television production, and print media. The Ross School believes that media studies are a crucial part of molding a responsible and engaged citizen.

As you probably know, when Microsoft purchased Great Plains Software - the whole strategy for Great Plains Dynamics/eEnterprise line was changed. Initial GPS strategy was to maintain DB platform independence - via it’s C-written engine Dexterity, based on the believe that C programming language is platform independent. So - Great Plains was running on MS SQL Server, Ctree (Faircom - if you remember 1995-96 Macintosh era), Pervasive SQL (Btrieve). Microsoft obviously had no plan to keep this multiplatform capability and Great Plains was optimized to MS SQL Server and with the introduction of MSDE - the need to keep entry level Dynamics on Ctree/Btrieve disappeared.

Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions, later renamed to Microsoft Business Solutions was sending multiple signals to Dynamics customers to migrate to SQL Server, later on to upgrade to Great Plains Standard on MSDE. Recently it promoted all the clients who own Great Plains on Ctree/Pervasive - so now they technically own so called Great Plains Standard. All they need to do is pay for Migration (around k$3 + consulting fee to whoever your MBS VAR is).

Unfortunately MBS did several rough turns in the process of this migration from ctree/Pervasive to SQL/MSDE.

Until early 2004 you could see support expiration date for Great Plains 7.5 on Ctree/Pervasive was July, 31, 2005. In about April, 2004 - Microsoft roughly changed it to December 31, 2004. This actually exposed all the clients with regulation-related modules (such as US Payroll - where you rather do not risk with printing W2s without support) to serious problems

Clients who migrated to Great Plains standard are now in the feeling that they paid for something that is free now. See above - all the low price GP clientele now technically owns GP Standard

Ctree/Pervasive clients with high volume of employees count in GP Payroll/HR now have to cut it to 500 employees due to the cap for GP Standard. You can imagine frustration, especially due to the fact that a lot of mid-size and big companies were running very cheap Dynamics on Ctree for just Payroll/W2 filing. This was a very nice alternative to products like Abra HR - not any more.

What to do. Well, if you plan to stay with GP - the only alternative is to migrate to MSDE. Contact your MBS VAR (or call us directly: 1-866-528-0577). You will be given Migration Tool quote - then install MSDE and Great Plains with exactly the same accounts structure that you have on Pervasive/Ctree. Tune Migration Tool, select all the tables in all the modules, click the button and wait a few hour - and you are in the SQL World!

A relatively new concept in the online world is “Virtual Real Estate Investing“. There are many variations on what this term means, encompassing everything from using the internet to aid in real estate investing efforts to participating in online games such as SecondLife.

To get the facts, I sought out the man generally considered to be the father of virtual real estate investing: Bryan Ellis.

Ellis says he adopted the term “virtual real estate investing” sometime before Y2K after he realized that making money online is conceptually very similar to making money with physical real estate.

An example of the similar nature of “virtual” and “physical” real estate Bryan Ellis likes to point out is the methods of making a profit from domain names compared to physical real estate. “There’s a huge difference between a website and a piece of real estate, but the ways you can profit from them are similar: ‘flipping’, rental/leasing, advertising sales, etc…all of these apply to both markets” he states.

The similarities really are obvious. Consider: A valuable piece of real estate is valuable largely due to the interest that other people have in that specific location. Similarly, ownership of a desirable domain name is valuable for the same reasons. So it doesn’t matter if you own physical real estate or virtual real estate - you’ll likely use similar strategies to turn them into money in your pocket.

In our next installment of this series on virtual real estate investing, Bryan Ellis will share the internet analogies to the physical concept of real estate development.

Have you ever happened onto an online forum and read some of the threads and posts and thought that they were too attacking? Did it turn you off and make you want to not participate, perhaps you read a bit and then clicked out? Well then, you are not alone; this happens even on scientific, innovation and industry forums. Often you will have an interesting topic and the subject degrades into personal attacks, it is a lot like politics on TV and the tit-for-tat sound and fury, which is so prevalent in our species.

Often you will notice that the parties discussing such topics will have discussed many cross-over uses or innovative theories on a concept or subject. Sometimes they end up superceding the known definitions of the subject and start arguing over points of contention of analogies and definitions or descriptions. You keep reading as the topic is fascinating yet once you start to reach the end you realize you have basically been reading 25 pages of BS semantics and are no where near getting to the bottom of the subject or original topic; why does this happen? Well it has a lot to do with the human mind; you see any human can spout their retained or memorized knowledge, run around proving they know something that they committed to memory and call themselves smart? That is not thinking, perhaps they might be able to occasionally use such information to solve problems, but the true breakthroughs come from ditching all the preconceived notions and memorized materials and asking the question.

Although rare sometimes you will see someone break out of these long debates babbling on signifying nothing and they will say something like:

“I asked the question, your answer I do not accept, as I still know that the proposed concept is worthy of exploration, whether or not your memorized definitions lead you to believe they do not is immaterial.”

When you read such logic you wonder, who is this person and you think good for them, as generally they are right in addressing the real or new issue of the display of a “war of words” rather than staying on topic to find a worthy solution to justify all the time spent.

Many humans attempt to pretend to be smart by doing things this way and confusing people. But in some cases there is no confusion with the originator of the subject and they will actually challenge their critics to prove that their original topic or concept is impossible, inefficient or an unworthy innovation. Additionally challenging their critics using all their worldly knowledge that the idea or concept is not sound.

It is amazing how difficult it is to press on against adversity of human minutia to put forth a new concept, however if you are one willing to stick your neck out and have a new idea, I know someone who will listen and discuss it with you? Think on this.
