When we look to the night sky, most of us see a shining orb that changes size and shape and a whole bunch of pin-sized lights. It’s now common knowledge that the moon affects water movement on earth. The tides ebb and flow with the pull of the moon.
We are made of 90% water, so it would make sense that the phase of the moon affects us as well. No scientific research has been conclusive in this area, and so it remains theory - although widely accepted.
With such a powerful force above us, shouldn’t we try to understand the moon’s mysteries? Start small. Try to pay attention to what phase the moon is in. Is it actually full or does it just look full? Do you find that you feel different when the moon is close to full? What about when the moon is close to new and you cannot see it at all?
Tradition states that a waning moon (decreasing in visibility) signals a time of ridding your self of negativity. Kicking bad habits, losing weight and releasing negative thought patterns are examples of traditional waning moon activities. The cleansing energy peaks at the moment of the new moon (no longer visible at all).
A waxing moon (increasing in visibility) is a good time to bring positive things to you. Start new projects, open your self to new experiences - love, laugh, live. These are the trademarks of the waxing moon. This positive energy peaks at the moment of the full moon (fully visible).
The moon is actually only full for moment before it begins to wane, it is in constant motion. The concept of perfection can be seen in the face of the moon. The laws of physics state: The only constant is change.
This leads one to further speculate that perfection, then, can only exist for a moment before it is lost and changed into something else. Unless, perfection is change and imperfection is stagnation. If the latter is truth, nature is perfection.
So much to learn from the perfect, unassuming moon.

Have you ever in your quest to be more and do more, experienced the feeling that you were going backward? We all seem to be over-stretching ourselves. I am always saying, “I never thought life would be this busy”. Could all this busyness actually prevent us or be creating blocks in our lives to what we are truly seeking? Could we actually start slowing down and asking ourselves different questions that would end up creating a more profound awareness in our lives? Can this hectic life with so many distractions keep us from a life where we are in appreciation of each and every moment of our day?
We live in a world with so many expectations and so much to accomplish. The financial well being, relationships that work, looking good and to be everything society wants us to be. All these burdens and expectations are like trying to push a bowling ball up a hill. Can we actually be causing damage to our well being, to the physical mind and body and in turn slowing the real growth we seek here on this planet? Does this damage that we have possibly caused need to be healed and will we slow down enough to heal ourselves?
We pursue all these things to create a place of wholeness. We seek a life that is complete and whole and dream of enjoying all that life has to offer. But do we ever get to the place of peace, calmness, and serenity and do we ever find the love for our lives.
When will we start to recognize that this is not working? And that we just keep doing more but the wholeness of our lives is just a big hole. Well there is hope. When we start to recognize what is going on and pay attention, we can take steps in creating and changing our lives to make a difference.
When we recognize that we need to be responsible for our own life and that we are the ones who ultimately create our reality we can actually break through all the expectations others have put on us and take the time to enjoy the moment. I’m not saying that we just sit around and do nothing. The point that I am making is that we are so busy that we are never where we are in that moment. We are doing one task and thinking about the next task. We never take the time to be in the moment and enjoy the moment for just that. We are in our cars, talking on the phone and thinking about the meeting we have later that day. We pick up a friend from the airport or we are at lunch with our mothers and we just have to answer that call from a friend who just wants to chit chat. When does it all slow down. When do we just be with someone or something? Like taking the time to read a book, or just sitting there and listening to your child, without all the noise going on in your head of what you have to do next? How about just being? Breathing and being in that moment from time to time and just enjoying it. A good friend of mine would sometimes take a Friday afternoon off from work or her chores and just be with the day. Enjoying the sunshine and feeling the warmth of the sun as it kisses her long flowing hair. Do you ever slow down and listening to the birds sing, or watching a humming bird hover like a helicopter as it pecks at a bougainvillea. Do you still feel the coolness and that little tickle of the grass on your feet or are you just traversing this planet in pursuit of something you just can’t get your hands around? Try breathing in and out slowly and feel the air move through your body. Do it now! Appreciate this moment and be in gratitude for this moment. Yes, you can tend to your busy life later, but from time to time just stop and just be. Be open to seeing and feeling what is going on around you and really appreciation the moment for whatever it offers. Let the world take care of itself for a while. You don’t have to always fix everything.
As you get good at being in the moment you will learn how to do this even when you are busy. You can take on tasks and just be in that task. You can actually enjoy the task and do it so well that you don’t even realize how quickly time has past and how efficient you were in accomplishing and enjoying that task. You can talk to someone and actually hear what they mean, not just what they are saying. So pay attention to the moment for this moment will never appear again. Every moment is a precious gift and the decisions and things we do in every moment create our reality. Please enjoy this moment and every moment of your life.

Yes… and no! Curriculum is nothing more than a roadmap. Seasoned travelers often
can get to a destination without a map; however, less experienced travelers might
get lost trying to make a trip without a map. It’s the same way with curriculum.
So, you might think that your many years of teaching a Bible study negates the need
for curriculum. Not so fast! How many years you’ve been teaching doesn’t affect
your need for curriculum; it has to do with study skills.
How you study and prepare is more important than your teaching history. If you
don’t have good inductive skills, you really ought to think twice about “flying by the
seat of your pants.”
Every Scripture passage has a context in which it originally was set. Yet, in an effort
to prove our points, we often twist Scripture and make it say things it doesn’t say.
Curriculum publishers use this strategy when trying to make Scripture support their
agendas. That’s why some Bible studies jump around and skip verses or passages.
In a presentation about a stewardship campaign, a representative of the fund-
raising company was discussing the biblical mandate to give. To legitimize his
point, he said, “We should give because God gave. The Bible says, ‘God so loved the
world that He gave!’” I watched as heads nodded and the teaching corps collectively
agreed with his statement. It is true that God did give, but the context of John 3:16
has nothing to do with raising money; it has everything to do with God’s providing a
Savior.
Be wary of the following when selecting your curriculum:
Publishers with agendas. When the agenda becomes more important than
the Scripture, the tendency is toward propaganda, not education.
Publishers with no educational direction. If you check the educational
qualifications of the staffs of some curriculum publishers, you might be surprised to
discover that no one on the staff is trained in adult education. That should be a
concern!
One-issue wonders. Everyone has a pet issue and some curriculum
publishers seem to make every Bible study come back around to their pet issues. If
you find yourself teaching on the same topics over and over, you probably have
found your curriculum publisher’s pet issue. If you keep using that curriculum you’ll
keep teaching that issue!
Studies of non-biblical content. Certainly there have been many great
things written by many great people, but Bible study is Bible study, not “what
someone said about what the Bible says” study!
Plug-n-play studies. If adults want to watch TV, they’ll stay at home.
Technology should be used to enhance the study of God’s Word, not replace it.
Because of the relational aspect of adult education, the attrition rate of “sit and
watch” studies exceeds 50%. This means that more than half of those who start a
study quit before the study ends.
Scripted studies. These are easy to find. If the material has leadership
material, take a look at how many times the instructions give you a statement to
make. Teaching is more than parroting the thoughts of someone else.
Quick fix options. OK, so Saturday was busy and you never got around to
preparing to teach your class. Aren’t you glad you have curriculum that tells you to
grab an item from your kitchen cabinet, read a few verses of Scripture, and consider
yourself to have taught a lesson? James 3:1 warns against taking your teaching
responsibility lightly. It’s unfortunate that curriculum publishers put profit above
educational integrity. The best thing you can do is commit yourself to preparation…
and leave the quick fix solutions stacked in the warehouses of the publishers!
So, what’s left? Honestly, not much! Even when publishers introduce “new”
curriculum, it’s often nothing more than the repackaging of old ideas. In
Teaching for a Change, we show teachers how to prepare to teach, how to
study the Bible, and how to use supplemental resources. There also are lessons to
help teachers deal with bad lessons in the curriculum they use. Teaching for a
Change is the first teacher training elearning course on the market. Because
each lesson takes less than 20 minutes to complete, your time isn’t wasted!
You can download a free copy of the Session Preparation Guide or
enroll in Teaching for a Change at our website. You might not need
curriculum, but you do need a plan! Think about it!

In the last few years we have witnessed a woman who drowned her children just to keep her rich boyfriend. An ice skating competitor who had the legs of her top rival broken so she could win. We have seen a mother hire a hit man to eliminate her daughter’s competition in baton twirling championships. Another man destroyed his pregnant wife to be able to play the field, and live the life of a playboy.
Perhaps the most unbelievable of all was a woman who killed a pregnant woman then cut her open and stole her unborn baby. I take exception with those who take exception with me for saying, that we have a nation of potential criminals and crackpots in our own children.
We have created this dangerous potential by giving our children anything and everything they want or call for. When they enter the real world, the work a day world where they must fend for themselves suddenly the silver platter is withdrawn and the reality is too much to handle for some. We have forgotten the days of our austerity when as pioneers, plainsmen, and immigrants we were thankful to have our most basic needs met. We have elevated our wants and desires to the level of the sacred.
We imitate and borrow from the language of the greedy with our preoccupation with the prosperity gospel of today’s preachers. You will be just as likely to find today’s churches teaching us how to invest our money as how to get saved. Being born again is mocked and set aside in favor of instruction in the stock market, retirement funds and get rich schemes. Add to this, that modern psychology, sociology and other behavioral and environmental scientists have repeatedly warned us that poverty leads to crime and social upheaval of every kind. You can only imagine what America would look like if virtually every extra and almost all essentials were at a premium, if they could be found at all. It does not paint a very good picture.
The ancient city of Sodom was rebuked by the prophet Ezekiel. Everyone knows the sins of ancient Sodom but in Ezekiel’s rebuke, the root cause for Sodom’s sin is revealed. In Ezekiel’s rebuke there is a warning for us to recognize the same cause festering in our land today. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. Eze.16:49
Ezekiel’s rebuke comes to my mind every time I hear some one refuse to give a few dollars to a children’s organization because they think the child won’t get all the money. But no one seems to even notice, much less demand a tax refund when a four hundred million dollar Jupiter probes go haywire and becomes useless. Movies are made that cost hundreds of millions of dollars to produce, whose messages and images would he better left in a garbage can. Tax money is spent on everything from the study of the flow of ketchup to the nocturnal habits of lesbians. Concupiscence and waste are rampant in every level of society and government, while personal responsibility and prudent stewardship has become an ethical relic of sorts. Where does it end?
I have no doubt that the chastisements of America will be the sudden and complete removal of nearly all essential goods and personal wealth. Something on the order of the dust bowl and the stock market crash combined, but multiplied many times over will soon befall this country. How this will come about is not certain but that is not my concern at this moment. I would prefer to see millions of Americans coming to their senses and turning back to God in humility and thereby avoiding this great portent, but I am sure that this is not what they are going to do.
A few years ago I was singing and playing guitar in some folk music venues. I produced three albums of Irish, folk, bluegrass and gospel songs before I published a compilation of my original songs. Among them is one I named An American Lament, I tried to present it as a Christian song but in the most subdued fashion. I wanted a message without the mush. I think I was able to accomplish that and that is why I present it here to appendage this section.
Many tall mountains, many long valleys
Many the white plains, that stretch out so far
All deep flowing rivers, rise cresting to meet me
Two shimmering oceans, with soft sandy shore
Darkly thick are the woodlands, the tall trees are bending
From beyond the soft west wind, drives the waves to the shore
Free flies the eagle, free rolling in blue skies
On high still the master, of all he surveys
Her people have proud eyes, all resting so carefree
They’ve left their strong towers, passing on to and fro
All beauty before them, great mountains and rivers
Yet groping like blind men, who can’t find the door
Bard, prophet and poet, sing haply their bright songs
But the heart that is searching, can see somethings wrong
To pierce through the dark cloud, the heart always wonders
But to grow into greatness, the hearts made to cry
But this land is not my land, this home its not my home
For I’ve never yet been there, not now or before

Deut 8:18 18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (KJV)
This Scripture was written to and for the Abrahamic Seed Group. When a Gentile accepts Christ as his/her Personal Savior, he/she is immediately grafted into this Abrahamic Seed Group.
Consequently, Gentile Christians are included in the great prosperity promise above. They are now Abraham’s Seed by grafting and are entitled to participate in this Abrahamic wealth promise.
Consider the reason given above why God gave us the power to get wealth. He did it in order to establish the Abrahamic Covenant with us also. The word translated “establish” here should have been translated by our English word “continue.”
This supernatural power to get wealth is God’s sign that we are now supernaturally included in the Covenant with Abraham. Furthermore, this power to get wealth is neither intelligence, ability nor talent.
It is the ability to plant financial seed and reap a financial harvest from it. This is how Abraham amassed wealth. He planted. Then he reaped. This is God’s universal Law of Wealth accumulation. We sow. We reap. This is the power to get the wealth in the above Scripture.
Look at the word “strength” in the Scripture below.
Acts 3:6-7 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. (KJV)
The word “strength” above translates a Greek word that is a dead ringer for our English word “steroid.” In other words, when Peter commanded healing into this man, it was equivalent to a massive injection of Holy Ghost steroids.
He received strength. He leaped up. He shouted. He walked. He was whole and strong. This belongs to us today also.
Furthermore, this can also be administered the same way today that Peter administered it then. He spoke a command and it was so. The man received Holy Ghost Steroids and was healed. Christians today are also authorized to do this.
Finally, Peter declared that the healing of this man had nothing to do with his holiness or power. In other words, Peter let the World know that he, himself, had nothing to do with this healing. It was all of God, through the use of Jesus’ name.
Acts 3:11-13 11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. (KJV)
In verse 11 above, when the people saw that the lame man was healed, they wondered greatly what had caused it.
In verse 12 above, Peter asked them why they were looking as him and John as though Their own power and holiness had anything to do with healing the man. His meaning Was that neither their power not holiness had anything to do with the man’s healing.
In verse 13 above, Peter attributed the healing to the God of the covenant with Abraham. This covenant, of course, included Abraham’s Seed Group, beginning with Isaac and Jacob. Christians today are still included in the Abrahamic Seed Group.
Our inclusion into this group is the reason Christians are still authorized to do the same thing today that Peter did and for the same reason. We are included, both in the Abrahamic Seed Group, and in the healing and prosperity aspect of it.
Finally, we see that Peter called upon no committees, held no prayer meetings, asked no man for permission. He just spoke the healing command using Jesus’ name and it was done. He was healed. Christians today are also authorized to do this.

We all know that athletes need endurance training for physical stamina and mental toughness. When game time arrives, he or she will be ready to do battle and will have a greater chance at victory. If the athlete does not go through the necessary preparedness, he or she may not even be allowed into the game.
It’s the same in our walk with God. We really shouldn’t expect that we can just ask God for some great position in life with out any preparation. It’s the tests and trials that He allows us to go through that are what prepare us for the greater things He has in store in the future.
There are two reasons why God tests us. The first reason is:
1. To Produce Patience
James 1:2-3 tells us, “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
There is a huge misunderstanding of what the word “patience” actually means. Most people will say that it means to “wait.” But, that’s not true. If you look up the word “patient” in Webster’s Dictionary it actually means to bear trials without complaining.
God doesn’t want to hear someone complain anymore than you want to hear someone complain. Not only that, but complaining only reinforces your situation. Whatever you talk about and focus on becomes magnified.
God uses tests and trials to bring patience into our lives because He wants us to develop a good attitude. A good attitude then, will make us the kind of person God can use. We will become perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
The second reason God tests us is:
2. To Make You Perfect, Complete, and Lacking Nothing
James 1:4 says, “Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
God sometimes allows storms into our lives to test us so that He may accomplish a purpose in us. And, that purpose is to prepare us for greater things (Psalm 107).
If you’re facing some challenges in your life today, just ask God to hold you up, strengthen you, and help you learn what He is trying to teach you.
Keep in mind that not all storms in your life are from God. Many times, you can create your own storms by making poor decisions. The best thing to do in these cases is to ask God to help you learn from your mistakes.
God can use your own storms to teach you things and use them to bring you increase. Always remember Romans 8:28, “All things work together for good to them who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.”
Be encouraged if things are not what you think they should be. God has a wonderful plan for your life and He may just be working on the inside of you right now. Maybe you’re just learning patience. If you’ve already learned patience, maybe patience is having it’s perfect work, making you perfect and complete, to where you will lack nothing.

DVD recorders are able to be used with a digital television to tape your desired language programmes and motion pictures as well as to look at pre-recorded soaps. Fantastic image & audio quality, but the recording facility means that they are noticeably more expensive than Digital Versatile Disc players & besides they can also be harder to work than Video Cassette Recorders. The diversity of recordable models available at present possibly well also add to the confusion.
Having the accurate connections linking your DVD recorder and your TV & hi-fi system can definitely make an extensive difference to the whole quality of the sound & image.
These are the connections to consider:
S-video connection: This is the next greatest thing to component video & is an alternative for all Digital Versatile Disc Players that don’t contain component output & also TVs that do not take account of component input. You could require a separate cable but the picture difference should be well worth it. Catch Sound and Vision’s savings on Sony DVD Recorders!
SCART leads: A major type of DVD connection found in the UK products is the SCART lead. This holds both sound and video signals. SCART connections are commonly found on DVD players & more recent tellies. Gold plated SCART leads provides a considerably improved connection. A SCART connection will absolutely give you a significantly superior picture than S-Video and is close to component standard. SCART cables aren’t typically added among players. You may likely be expected to shell out approximately twenty-five pounds
Audio connectors: Digital Versatile Disc players, mainly the more top of the range makes, can have countless of sound outputs. Outputs are likely to consist of phono, digital coaxial and digital optical. If you are attempting to connect to a different hi-fi player this may perhaps be a considerably mainly trait.
Progressive scan is the most recent word in the Digital Versatile Disc recorder industry and whilst considerably more top of the range recorders include it, it can not in truth be used unless you have a digital telly. With it your image can be refreshed sixty times per second thus helping to make a sharper, roughly flicker free image and is greater to anything that is supplied by the numerous interlaced scanning products.
